We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable First Aid Trainer to join our team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced First Aid Trainer to join our established Health and Safety team and work with us to deliver great customer service and ongoing support to our clients in a variety of sectors across the UK.
YMD Boon is a trusted, multi-disciplinary building consultancy with over 50 years’ experience, formed by the merger of YMD Architecture and John Boon and Partners. We are a RIBA and RICS Chartered Practice specialising in architecture, building surveying, and health and safety services. We boast a team of 65award-winning professionals, ranging from architects and architectural technologists to building surveyors, clerk of works and health and safety consultants.
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for educating others on essential first aid techniques. As a First Aid Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging training sessions, ensuring participants are well-equipped with the necessary skills to respond effectively in emergency situations. This role requires excellent organisational abilities and effective communication skills to facilitate learning in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive first aid training sessions to diverse groups, ensuring all participants understand key concepts and techniques.
- Develop and maintain training materials that are up-to-date with current first aid practices and guidelines.
- Present information clearly and confidently, adapting teaching methods to suit various learning styles.
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, participant attendance, and assessment results.
- Stay informed about advancements in first aid practices and incorporate new information into training sessions.
Requirements
- A valid first aid certification is essential; additional qualifications in teaching or education are advantageous.
- Proven experience as a First Aid Instructor or in a similar educational role is preferred.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple training sessions effectively.
- Proficient IT skills for creating presentations and managing training documentation.
- Level 3 award in education
- Fluency in English, with strong verbal communication skills to present information clearly.
- Ability to engage participants through effective communication and behaviour management techniques.
- Be open to UK wide travel where required.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- IOSH Managing Safley
- Previous Health and Safety experience
- Experience in delivering MHFA training (mental health first aid)

The role is full time hours Monday to Friday with a degree of flexibility.
