About the Role:
London is one of the global capitals of design and innovation, and at Jason Funk Design UK Ltd, we hold every digital product we create to that world-class standard. We build websites, web applications, and mobile products that seamlessly bridge user needs with clean, functional aesthetics. We believe every interaction should be effortless. We are looking for a Junior UI/UX Designer who is passionate about user-centered design and eager to kickstart their career. You aren't just completing tasks; you are learning how to define digital experiences. Working alongside senior designers, developers, and product leads, you will help bridge the gap between complex requirements and elegant visual interfaces. You will be a dedicated advocate for the user while developing your skills on real-world client projects.
Why Work With Us?
- The Environment: Located in the heart of London, our studio values a workspace that inspires creativity—collaborative, inclusive, and driven by great ideas.
- Mentorship & Growth: We don't expect you to know everything on day one. You will receive direct, hands-on guidance from senior design leaders to help accelerate your career trajectory.
- Modern Stack: We work primarily in Figma, using updated component systems, design tokens, and modern interactive prototyping workflows.
- Design Culture: Design isn't an afterthought here; it's our core product. Your voice, ideas, and creative input will be welcomed from your very first week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wireframing & Prototyping: Assist in building user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to test ideas and map out seamless user journeys.
- Visual UI Design: Craft clean, intuitive, and accessible screen layouts, ensuring visual consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Design System Support: Help maintain and expand our Figma component libraries and digital style guides across various client projects.
- User Research & Testing: Support usability testing sessions, compile candidate feedback, and turn user insights into actionable design iterations.
- Developer Collaboration: Prepare clear design assets and documentation for smooth handoffs to engineering teams.
What We Are Looking For:
- Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating basic UI/UX principles, wireframing, and polished visual design (academic, personal, or internship projects welcome).
- Tooling: Practical familiarity with modern design tools, particularly Figma (understanding of Auto Layout, components, and basic prototyping).
- Foundational Knowledge: Solid understanding of grid systems, visual hierarchy, typography, color theory, and responsive design fundamentals.
- Language & Communication: Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to explain the reasoning behind your design choices.
- Mindset: Eager to learn, open to constructive feedback, detail-oriented, and excited to grow within a fast-paced agency setting.
