As a Support Worker in our Community Support and Holiday Service, you'll help adults with learning disabilities achieve their goals, develop lasting friendships and become active members of their community. Whether you're supporting someone into employment, accompanying them on holiday or encouraging them to try something new, your support will make a lasting difference.
What you will do
- Support individuals to achieve greater independence
- Encourage participation in community life and meaningful activities
- Support people to access employment, volunteering, education and leisure opportunities
- Promote health and wellbeing through active lifestyles
- Provide personalised support, including personal care where required
- Maintain accurate records using digital systems
- Build trusted relationships with individuals and partner organisations
- Deliver high quality, person centred support
About you
You'll be compassionate, dependable and motivated by helping people achieve greater independence. You'll have strong communication skills, basic IT skills and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
Experience in social care is beneficial but not essential. You will hold, or be willing to achieve, an SVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Social Care (depending on the role), or an equivalent qualification that meets Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration requirements. Experience or a qualification in supporting autistic people would be welcomed but isn't essential. This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
