We are a well‑established structural steelwork contractor seeking 1 x Labourer (Painter’s Mate) to join our painting team. You will work directly alongside a senior painter, supporting all preparation and application tasks on steelwork projects across the UK.
This role suits someone reliable, hands‑on, and comfortable with travelling and staying away during the week.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior painter with daily tasks
- Mix paint to required specifications
- Prepare steel surfaces through:
- Cleaning
- Wipe‑downs
- Sanding
- Grinding
- Etching
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
- Follow all site safety procedures and instructions.
Your Typical Week
- Monday (early hours): Your ganger collects you in a company van and transports you to the job site.
- Monday–Friday: You will stay away in company‑provided digs as required.
- Friday afternoon: Your ganger returns you home.
- Mid‑week: You are typically home on Wednesday night, but this is not guaranteed and depends on job progress.
Essential Requirements
- Green Labourers CSCS Card
- CITB 1‑Day Health & Safety Awareness
Desirable Qualifications
- IPAF 3a/3b or CPCS A25 / A26
- Safety Critical Works Medical
Pay: £120.00-£150.00 per day
