Kitchen Porter – Stobo Castle Health Spa
Stobo Castle Health Spa, Scotland’s only Destination Spa and an award-winning, family-run business, is nestled in the beautiful Scottish Borders countryside just outside Peebles.
We are currently seeking reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porters to join our kitchen team. We have full-time and part-time opportunities available, with immediate start dates.
Applicants must be 15 years of age or over.
The Role
As a Kitchen Porter, you will play an important role in the smooth day-to-day running of our kitchen and in maintaining the high standards expected at Stobo Castle.
Working alongside our chefs and wider Food & Beverage team, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating the dishwasher and pot-wash areas
- Washing and correctly storing crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and kitchen equipment
- Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen and back-of-house areas
- Cleaning kitchen equipment, floors and work areas
- Assisting with the safe disposal of waste and recycling
- Receiving and putting away deliveries when required
- Keeping storage and service areas clean, tidy and organised
- Supporting the chefs and wider kitchen team with general duties as required
- Following all food hygiene, health & safety and company procedures
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- A good team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Comfortable working as part of a busy kitchen team
- Able to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation
- Willing to help colleagues and get involved wherever required
- Flexible and available to work a mixture of shifts, including evenings and weekends
Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment would be advantageous, but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
This role could also be an excellent opportunity for someone looking for their first job, allowing them to gain valuable experience working as part of a professional kitchen team in a supportive environment.
