Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 2 lorries in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing of cargo during transit
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules and optimise fuel consumption
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Assist with loading and unloading when required, maintaining a high standard of organisation and safety
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures during daily operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with logistics operations
- Valid Class 2 driving licence with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial vehicle operation
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks related to loading/unloading cargo
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision
