ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a reliable and hands-on individual to join our team as a Maintenance Operative & Activity Instructor. This varied role combines site maintenance with delivering outdoor activities to guests.
The successful candidate will help ensure the centre is well maintained, safe, and ready for daily operations, while also leading activity sessions for customers including groups, parties, and corporate events.
This is an active outdoor role suited to someone practical, energetic, and confident working with people.
You will also be responsible for keeping the Outdoor Activity Centre clean and tidy presenting a professional image to our guests at all times.
Full on site training is given.
Wage will depend on age and experience, and any related qualifications/licences.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Duties
- Carry out general site maintenance and repairs across the activity centre
- Maintain activity equipment, structures, and facilities to a high standard
- Perform routine safety checks and inspections
- Assist with the setup and preparation of activity areas
- Support improvements and development projects around the site
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of maintenance areas and equipment
- Identify and report any safety issues or repair needs
Activity Instructor Duties
- Deliver safe, engaging activity sessions to customers
- Provide clear safety briefings and instructions
- Supervise groups during activities ensuring safety procedures are followed
- Maintain equipment and ensure it is ready for each session
- Create a fun and welcoming environment for all visitors
- Assist with group events such as birthday parties, stag/hen groups, and corporate events
HOURS OF WORK
We are open 7 days a week, 9am-5.30pm, working hours may begin 8.30am some days including weekends.
This role includes working weekends.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidates will:
- Practical maintenance or DIY skills
- Confident working with tools and equipment
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically fit and active
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous experience in maintenance, construction, or groundskeeping
- Experience working in outdoor activity centres or leisure venues
- First aid qualification
- Driving licence
- · Previous experience of working within an outdoor activities environment will be an advantage
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 8-16 per week
Pay: £27,100.00-£28,500.00 per year
