Job Summary
We are seeking a part time detail-oriented and highly organised Tax Accountant to join our financial services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing strategic financial insights. Responsibilities
- Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships in accordance with current legislation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in legislation.
- Analyse financial data using specialised accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or customised systems to identify tax liabilities and optimise financial strategies.
- Manage accounts payable processes related to tax payments and other financial obligations.
- Assist clients with financial planning by providing advice on tax-efficient strategies and long-term financial goals.
- Collaborate with auditors during audits to ensure accurate documentation and compliance.
- Maintain organised records of all tax-related documentation for audit purposes and future reference.
- Support the team with ad hoc analysis tasks to improve overall financial efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience within the financial services sector, particularly in accounting or taxation roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Experience managing accounts payable processes related to taxation.
- Knowledge of tax legislation and compliance requirements across different sectors.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.
