Salary: £33,000.00 - £40,000.00
Location: Bedford
Shift: 45hrs Per Week (Mon-Fri 07.30 – 5.00pm)
Are you an experienced Plant Fitter looking for your next challenge? Do you have a strong mechanical background working on construction plant and heavy equipment?
We're looking for a skilled and motivated Workshop Plant Fitter to join our established team at our Bedfordshire depot. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a respected business with a modern fleet of construction plant and excellent long-term career prospects.
Working within our busy workshop, you'll be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a wide range of plant hire equipment, ensuring machines are prepared to the highest standards before returning to our customers.
Workshop Plant Fitter - The Role
As a Workshop Plant Fitter, your responsibilities will include:
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of plant hire equipment.
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
- Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and bespoke machine inspections.
- Identifying damaged or worn components and completing repairs to a high standard.
- Performing routine servicing in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Completing welding and fabrication repairs where required.
- Preparing equipment to ensure it is safe, reliable and ready for hire.
- Accurately completing service, inspection and maintenance records.
- Working safely whilst adhering to all company Health & Safety procedures.
Workshop Plant Fitter - Equipment You'll Be Working On
You'll gain experience working on a varied fleet including:
- Telehandlers
- Excavators
- Dumpers
- Rollers
- General construction plant equipment
Workshop Plant Fitter - What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from candidates who have:
- Previous experience working within the Plant Hire or Construction Plant industry.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience servicing and repairing construction plant machinery.
- Welding and fabrication experience (advantageous).
- An NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent (desirable).
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Their own hand tools (specialist tools supplied).
