This role is for a Room Leader for our Pre-School Room.
OVERALL JOB ROLE
- To deliver and ensure a high standard of learning, development and care for pre-school aged children.
- To manage the day to day running of the room
- To ensure that the rooms are a safe environment for children, staff and others
- To develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child’s development
- To manage your team (3 members of staff)
DUTIES
- To ensure responsibility for the effective daily running of the pre-school room
- To have a sound knowledge of company policies, procedures and expectations
- To act as an excellent role model to the staff team, being able to showcase high-quality practice in all areas
- To take responsibility for excellent hygiene, health and safety and security practice within the nursery
- To work cooperatively with the manager, deputy and other room managers
- To support and lead your room team in planning and providing appropriate daily activities in line with guidance from the EYFS
- To uphold the highest level of safeguarding practice and ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
- To manage and supervise observation, assessment and planning in your room, ensuring all children are making progress
- To work with outside professionals where required
- To work closely with parents and create trusting relationships with all families
QUALIFICATIONS (ESSENTIAL)
- Minimum of Level 3 in early years or equivalent
- Experience in working with pre-school aged children
- Knowledge of the Early Years Sector
- Good standard of English and Maths at GCSE A-C or equivalent
- Pedatric first Aid Certificate (if qualification was received after 2016)
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS (ESSENTIAL)
- 2 years or more experience working in a nursery or similar environment
- 2 years or more experience as a Pre-school room leader
- Experience of being a key person
- Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted framework

- Able to use written English to write reports and keep clear and accurate records
