Job Summary
Demlyn group hotels in Canterbury are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping team member to join our team. As a Housekeeper assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment for our guests. All our hotels are located in Canterbury and you will be required to work within all four hotels.
The hours will between 9am-2pm and based over 4-5 days including weekend availability.

Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas
- Change bed linens and replace towels
- Vacuum carpets and sweep floors
- Dust furniture and fixtures
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste
- Restock supplies such as toiletries and cleaning products
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor
- Respond to guest requests in a timely and professional manner
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hotel or commercial setting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if required
- Strong customer service skills to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner

Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, adhering to established cleanliness standards.
- Change bed linens, towels, and other amenities as required, ensuring all items are fresh and well-presented.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces to maintain a tidy appearance throughout the establishment.
- Vacuum carpets and mop floors to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in all areas.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Assist with laundry duties as needed, including washing, drying, and folding linens and uniforms.
- Ensure that cleaning supplies are stocked and report any shortages to management.
- Uphold health and safety regulations while performing cleaning tasks.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hotel or hospitality housekeeping is preferred but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed within designated time frames.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to cleaning protocols effectively.
- Good physical stamina as the role involves standing for long periods and performing manual tasks.
