Senior Structural Engineer

Job details

Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent)
Working towards or Chartered Engineer with IStructE or ICE
Experience leading project teams and managing technical delivery
Strong understanding of structural design, coordination, and project management
Commercial awareness with experience supporting project financial performance
Confident communicator, comfortable managing client and stakeholder relationships
Experience mentoring and developing engineers and technicians
Interested in contributing to business development and growing client relationships
Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
The ability to design to British Standards or Eurocodes. Working knowledge of BS8110, beneficial
Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Tekla, Tedds, ETABS, Robot, Revit)

The role of an Senior Structural Engineer can be very varied, duties will include but are not limited to:

Preparation of Technical Specifications and checking the work/specifications of other Engineers in the team
Management, leadership, support and coaching of a team ranging from apprentices to experienced civil engineers
Liaising with clients for project delivery, relationship and new business development
Reviewing job financial performance and managing resources accordingly
Supporting delivery of the team’s Performance and Development Review process
Providing support in seeking new work from existing clients
