We’re looking for a dynamic and relationship‑driven Work Experience Coordinator to help transform the employment pathways available to learners in Alternative Provision across West Sussex and Brighton & Hove.
The Opportunity
Salary: £36,363 to £39,152 per annum (£21,817 to £23,491 pro rata per annum)
Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31st August 2027
Working Pattern: Part time, 22.2 hours per week (We are open to a conversation to agree working hours over 3 days.
You may occasionally be required to work flexibly in line with changing demands.
Location: West Sussex, Brighton and Hove with a requirement to travel across the whole geography. We work in a hybrid team, once a month working one day from County Hall Chichester. The rest of your time will be spent working in the Alternative Provision Colleges or from home. However, we have 5-day per week office facilities if required.
There will be a requirement to meet with the team in person for team meetings, events and at key points in projects.

In role you will work closely with senior leaders and Careers Leads at Central Hub Brighton and West Sussex alternative Provision Centre (WSAPC), as well as with local employers, to scale up what already works and design innovative, inclusive Modern Work Experience programmes.
You will also help shape opportunities that build confidence, skills, and long‑term employment prospects for young people facing significant barriers.

About You
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Experience in supporting young people with additional needs or barriers
- Strong employer engagement and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to design and coordinate flexible, meaningful work experience
- A collaborative, solution‑focused approach
Qualifications and/or experience:
- Experience working with young people facing barriers to education, employer, or training.
- Understanding of Alternative Provision and the challenges faced by AP learners.
- Ability to design and coordinate inclusive, flexible work experience opportunities to meet the needs of AP learners.
- Strong employer engagement skills with the ability to communicate confidently and build trust.
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills, to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders at all levels and create effective working relationships.
