Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the company’s credit control processes, ensure timely collection of outstanding payments, and support the accounts department with essential administrative tasks. Your proactive approach will help maintain healthy cash flow, reduce overdue accounts, and uphold accurate financial records. Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payments are received in accordance with agreed terms
- Contact customers via phone, email, or written correspondence to follow up on overdue invoices and resolve payment issues
- Maintain accurate records of all communications related to debt collection efforts
- Process incoming payments and reconcile accounts using accounting software such as Sage, or Xero
- Assist with accounts payable tasks, including processing supplier invoices and verifying payment accuracy
- Support month-end closing activities by preparing reports on outstanding debts and aging analysis
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve credit control procedures and streamline workflows
Experience
- Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable roles within a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of accounting software platforms such as Sage, or Xero
- Familiarity with accounts payable processes and invoice management
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively with customers
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks accurately while maintaining attention to detail
- Understanding of financial reconciliation and ledger management
