Care is Central is seeking motivated and passionate Housekeeping Manager who is compassionate, to join our newly established team at our brand-new Care Village in Flitwick.
Red Kite Meadows is a large care village comprising of an 88-bedroom care home for older people, an 88-apartment independent living complex, an 8-bedroom short breaks service for younger adults with learning and physical disabilities and a community core including function rooms, and a café/bistro.
You’ll join a supportive, hands-on team with a full training programme, helping us provide high-quality care across Central Bedfordshire.
Job Role:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Housekeeper to lead our dedicated housekeeping team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that enhances the comfort and well-being of our residents.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
Duties:
- To contribute to the Home’s high standards especially in relation to cleanliness and the overall presentation of the home.
- To undertake general cleaning tasks.
- Manage, allocate duties, and supervise the housekeeping team ensuring a quality delivery of service for the duration of each shift.
- Overseeing rota’s and ensuring adequate staffing levels.
- Overseeing payroll and approving annual leave etc.
- Managing staff performance and conducting regular supervisions, appraisals and spot checks.
- Overseeing quality and compliance, completing the necessary documentation, and completing audits with the agreed timescales
- Promote best practice throughout the team.
- Adhere to companies policies and procedures.
- Ensure good infection prevention procedures are in place and adhered to.
- Complete a full cleaning schedule for the home and delegate tasks appropriately within the housekeeping team.
- Ensure the working environment is free from hazards and be aware of the risks when using the equipment.
- Take responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of adults that the post holder is responsible for or comes into contact with.
Requirements:
- Background in commercial cleaning in a hotel, care or hospital environment.
- Experience in managing a team of housekeepers.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills.
- Experience of Auditing, stock control and legislation e.g. COSHH.
- To be eligible to work in the UK
