Overview
Smarter Appliances is seeking a Skilled Specialist Appliance Installer / Carpenter to join our growing Premium Installation Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in joinery, kitchen fitting, and precision installation work, with the ability to adapt to a variety of complex on-site situations. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in high-quality workmanship, problem-solving, and working within premium domestic environments. Applicants must be reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of working to exceptional standards in both standalone and team-based settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out professional installation of premium domestic appliances, ensuring accuracy, safety, and a first-class customer experience.
- Perform high-quality carpentry and joinery adjustments on-site — including cabinetry modifications, panel trimming, and appliance housing alterations to ensure a perfect fit and finish.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, kitchen layouts, and installation specifications to deliver precise, compliant installations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation challenges such as misaligned units, restricted spaces, and electrical or plumbing integration issues.
- Assist in the repair and adjustment of premium kitchens where appliance installation is affected by poor fitment or design conflicts.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialist equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, upholding Smarter Appliances’ reputation for professionalism and respect in customers’ homes.
- Work collaboratively with other installers, engineers, and project managers to meet deadlines and maintain installation quality standards.
Experience & Requirements
- Proven experience in appliance installation, kitchen fitting, or joinery-based roles.
- Skilled in the use of carpentry and fitting tools, with excellent finishing ability and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of cabinet construction, worktop installation, and how to adapt existing kitchens for integrated appliances.
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans, installation guides, and wiring/plumbing layouts.
- Confident handling on-site problem solving, including cutting, trimming, and realignment of cabinetry.
- Familiarity with plumbing and electrical integration for kitchen appliances (connections, isolation valves, etc.).
- Full understanding of health and safety practices relevant to on-site installation work.
- Full UK driving licence required.
