At Stericycle, our Drivers keep healthcare environments safe by collecting and transporting essential medical waste. Operating 24/7, our team plays a vital role in protecting people and the planet — and safety is always our top priority.
The Role
We’re looking for experienced Class 1 Drivers to complete the safe and timely collection, movement, and unloading of healthcare waste across a set route. You’ll work independently, be the face of our service, and ensure every job is completed to strict safety and compliance standards.
Set Shifts: – 45hrs per week (some weekend working as part of shift pattern)
Day: Working 5 days over 7 days (4am Start) Salary £40,000 + Overtime paid at time & half
Nights: Working 5 Nights over 7 nights (3pm start) Salary £40,000 + £2.36ph Nights Shift + Overtime paid at time & half
ADR required — training provided if needed.
*As part of role requirements, all employees are required to complete a DBS check.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out physically demanding tasks, including moving large wheeled bin containers on and off vehicles.
- Safely transport large waste containers to Stericycle incineration & treatment plants.
- Follow all Health & Safety, ADR and driver regulations without compromise.
- Complete documentation using our handheld system.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, delivering service excellence.
What You’ll Bring
- Class 1 Licence (with C+E entitlement), as well as a Full Driver CPC and Digi Card, preferably linked to an ADR certificate - packages 6.1/ 6.2
- A strong safety mindset — stopping work when something doesn’t look right.
- Flexibility, resilience and professionalism.
- Experience in Class 1 multi‑drop or waste/transport environments (advantage).
