SEN teachers needed in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole - Start ASAP
Zen Educate is looking for full-time, SEN teachers to join our team. We are looking for teachers who are passionate about teaching and inspiring students to learn and achieve. These positions would be in our Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole locations.
Responsibilities:
- Life Skills Integration: Designing lessons that translate academic concepts into "Preparing for Adulthood" (PfA) outcomes (e.g., managing money, cooking, or traveling independently)
- Sensory & Communication Diets: Integrating sensory breaks and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) into every lesson. Functional Skills: Teaching literacy and numeracy through a practical lens tailored to each student's cognitive profile.
- Expert Behavioural & Medical Management: High-needs environments often involve complex medical or behavioural profiles.
- Positive Behavioural Support (PBS): Developing and overseeing robust behaviour plans that focus on functional communication rather than just "compliance."
- Risk Assessment: Constant vigilance regarding the physical safety of students who may exhibit self-injurious behavior or high-frequency outbursts. Medical Liaison: Overseeing the administration of medication or specialized physical therapy routines (in coordination with school nurses).
Qualifications:
- Must have SEN School Experience
- Experience with challenging behaviours
- Experience with adapted curriculum
