We are looking to recruit a Kitchen Assistant to join us at our family owned care home.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Washing up and keeping the dish wash area tidy.
- Helping keep the kitchen organised and clean.
- Basic food preparation daily alongside the chef.
- Daily preparation four times per day of the food trolleys working alongside the carers
- Any other tasks as required
Communication
- Liaise with Chef and Home Manager, or delegated Staff Member, regarding cleaning work to be carried out
- Act courteously toward staff members, residents and their visitors
- Participate in Staff meetings as and when required
Health & Safety
- Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any accident or near miss incurred by a service user, colleague, self or another
- Adhere to the care centre’s waste disposal policy
- Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature
- Understand, and ensure the implementation of, the Care Centre’s Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
- Report to the Home Manager, any faulty appliances, damaged equipment or any potential hazard
- Promote safe working practice within the Care Centre
- Ensure the security of the Care Centre is always maintained
- Staff are responsible for ensuring that they understand the Infection Prevention and Control Policy. They should be fully aware of how and when to use PPE as per company policies and procedures in line with local and national guidelines
Other Duties
- Other such reasonable duties within the general scope of the job title at the Home Managers discretion
Hours are between 20 & 40
Job Type: Part-time
