Job Description: Communal Area Cleaner / Caretaker
Location: Hendon (HA1 / HA2 area) – Candidates must have reliable transport to commute to the site.
Position Type: Part-Time (4 Days a Week)
Working Days: Tuesday to Friday
Salary £100 per day ( 7 hours plus a daily unpaid 30 minute lunch break )
Reporting To: Cleaning Management Company Supervisor
Job Purpose
To maintain the high standards, cleanliness, and safety of the communal internal areas and external grounds across the property blocks in Harrow. The successful candidate will ensure that residents enjoy a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by adhering to a structured weekly and monthly maintenance schedule.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Weekly Tasks (Tuesday to Friday)
- Internal Cleaning: Vacuum all communal carpets and thoroughly wash hard floors. Clean the lifts completely, including polishing mirrors, wiping down buttons, and vacuuming/mopping the lift floor.
- Dusting & Detailing: Dust and wipe down all skirting boards, banisters, staircases, window frames, sills, light fittings, and ledges as required.
- Grounds & Waste Management: Sweep all external entrance porches and litter-pick the car park. Remove and dispose of unwanted advertising materials or junk mail left in the communal premises.
- Bin Store Maintenance: Sweep out the bin stores and apply disinfectant when necessary.
- Basic Maintenance: Inspect and replace any faulty light bulbs in hallways, staircases, and external areas. Report any complex electrical faults to your supervisor
Monthly Tasks
- Car Park Maintenance: Systematically sweep the residential car parks. This task is rotated weekly
Requirements & Qualifications
- Location & Travel: Must be able to reliably travel to and from the site in Harrow daily.
- Availability: Must be fully available to work four days a week, strictly from Tuesday to Friday.
- Experience: Previous experience in commercial, communal, or residential block cleaning is highly desirable.
- Reliability: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and commit to daily changing routines.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for cleanliness and a proactive approach to reporting maintenance issues.
- Physical Fitness: The role involves manual tasks, including lifting, sweeping, bending, and walking between blocks.
Pay: £100.00 per day
