Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, possess a keen eye for cleanliness, and be eager to contribute to a busy kitchen environment. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with specified recipes and standards
- Support chefs with ingredient organisation, washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables or other ingredients as required
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment to comply with food safety regulations
- Help with the storage of ingredients and supplies, ensuring proper labelling and rotation
- Serve food to customers or staff in a courteous and efficient manner
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist with general cleaning duties within the kitchen area, including waste disposal and equipment sanitisation
- Support catering events by preparing ingredients or serving meals as needed
Experience
- Previous experience in a catering, restaurant, or kitchen environment is essential
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and meal preparation is essential
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices is preferred
- Experience in food service or serving roles will be beneficial but is not mandatory
- Enthusiasm for culinary activities and a willingness to learn new skills are essential for success in this role
