I’m supporting a well-established civil & structural consultancy in Glasgow with a history spanning more than 40 years as they continue to grow with recent significant project wins. They’ve built a strong reputation for quality, technical competence and a collaborative, no‑ego culture. Now they’re looking to bring in a BIM Technician who enjoys detail, coordination and being part of a tight-knit design team.
The Role
You’ll work closely with structural engineers to produce high-quality drawings and BIM models across a mix of residential, commercial and industrial projects. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved from early design stages through to construction, helping resolve details, coordinating information, and contributing to the overall delivery of projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Producing and managing structural drawings and Revit models
- Developing coordinated construction packages with engineers and architects
- Identifying and resolving detailing or coordination issues
- Supporting project meetings and technical discussions
- Carrying out occasional site visits to understand buildability and answer queries
- Working to BIM standards and contributing to continuous improvement of workflows
What They’re Looking For
- Experience as a Structural or BIM Technician in a consultancy environment
- Strong Revit capability (AutoCAD useful but secondary)
- Good understanding of BIM processes and model coordination
- Ability to interpret engineering sketches and turn them into buildable details
- Someone who takes pride in accuracy and enjoys being part of a collaborative team
