Join our dedicated team as a Children's Support Worker and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate care, support their development, and help create a safe, nurturing environment both within the community and their own homes.
This specific package calls for support in the home of a family with 4 children all of whom have Dravet syndrome to assist with their morning routines before school.
Hours
Monday - Friday Term Time 6am-8:30am
We do have additional weekend hours to offer in the community but are ultimately looking for the right individual to comit to the above times first.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized care tailored to each child's needs, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Support children with daily morning routines such as breakfast, medication and personal hygiene routines
- Maintain clear communication with children, colleagues, and families to promote understanding and trust
- Monitor progress and document observations
- Respond promptly to any emergencies or behavioral challenges with professionalism and sensitivity
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a childcare, education, or support setting is highly desirable
- Valid driving license and experience driving safely with children on board is preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and team members
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in childcare
- Ability to use IT systems for record keeping, care plan updates, and communication purposes
- Compassionate attitude combined with patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach
