Stock Condition and Energy Surveyor
Help shape the future of our homes and communities.
As we continue to invest in our housing stock, we're expanding Gentoo's Property Investment team and are looking for experienced Stock Condition and Energy Surveyors to join us. In this rewarding role, you'll help ensure our customers live in safe, warm and energy-efficient homes by carrying out stock condition surveys and energy assessments across our portfolio.
Working closely with our Asset Investment team, you'll provide accurate data and insight that informs future investment decisions, helping us prioritise improvements such as new kitchens, bathrooms and other key property upgrades. Your work will play a vital role in maintaining high-quality homes, meeting the Decent Homes Standard, and supporting our commitment to delivering safe, sustainable homes for our customers.
Please note: To be considered for this opportunity, you'll need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work-related travel. The role is also subject to a DBS check, which will be arranged and funded by Gentoo
What you will be doing:
Carry out stock condition surveys and energy assessments across our homes, providing valuable insight into property performance and future investment needs.
Identify and record any HHSRS hazards and areas that fall below the Decent Homes Standard, helping to ensure customers live in safe, comfortable homes.
Contribute to a collaborative and continuous improvement culture by sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues across the team.
Maintain your professional expertise through ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD), ensuring your knowledge and skills remain aligned with industry best practice.
What you will bring:
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work-related travel.
A Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) qualification, with experience producing Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for domestic properties.
Knowledge of stock condition surveying within the social housing sector, including the Decent Homes Standard, regulatory requirements and energy performance legislation.
Experience carrying out stock condition surveys, HHSRS assessments and energy inspections within a housing environment.
Confidence in managing energy assessment processes, certification requirements and associated systems.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret, validate and work with asset and stock data.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and asset management systems.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
It would be great if you had, however not essential:
An HNC/D in a relevant building industry qualification.
