About the Role
Grasmere Farm is looking for an experienced Production Kitchen Manager to lead our busy farmhouse kitchen near Deeping St James.
Producing our award-winning range of products, you'll be responsible for overseeing both the production and packing teams, ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, safely and to the highest quality standards.
This is a hands-on management role. As well as leading the team, you'll be expected to work alongside them, assisting with the production and packing of products whenever required.
Working week is Monday- Friday with some weekend work, when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day operation of both the production and packing departments
- Developing and implementing production plans to meet customer demand
- Planning staffing levels and allocating resources effectively
- Monitoring productivity and producing KPIs and performance reports
- Ensuring production targets, quality standards and deadlines are achieved
- Driving continuous improvements in efficiency, waste reduction and profitability
- Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and compliance
- Training, motivating and developing members of the team
- Working alongside the team in the production and packing of products during busy periods
About You
We're looking for an organised, proactive leader who enjoys improving processes and getting the best from a team.
You will have:
- Previous management experience within a food production or manufacturing environment
- Experience producing KPIs, production reports and performance data
- Strong production planning and staff scheduling skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- The ability to motivate and lead a team by example
- A hands-on approach and willingness to work wherever needed
- A good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety requirements
Experience within a butchery, bakery or food manufacturing business would be advantageous but is not essential.
