What you’ll be doing
As a Water Hygiene Technician, you’ll be part of a small, supportive team carrying out vital work to control and prevent the risk of legionella. Your day-to-day tasks will vary as no two sites are the same, giving you the chance to meet new people and solve different challenges every day.
Typical tasks include:
- plumbing remedial work
- Temperature monitoring
- TMV servicing
- Cold water storage tank cleaning & disinfection
- Showerhead cleaning & disinfection
- Tank inspections & water sampling
- Calorifier inspections
General responsibilities:
- Completing online job records and reports accurately
- Caring for tools, PPE, van and equipment
- Driving to sites (approx. 2,000 miles/month)
- Maintaining a professional appearance and keeping your van/equipment organised
About you
- NVQ 2 Plumbing or equivalent plumbing experience
- Keen to step away from domestic plumbing into a niche and rewarding industry
- Confident in decision-making and problem-solving on the job
- Organised, professional, and accurate in reporting
- A natural communicator with a positive, can-do attitude
- Flexible about travel and occasional overnight stays
Experience in TMV servicing, calorifier inspections, BS8558 disinfection or water softener servicing would be an advantage, but full training is provided.
