Overview
Pegasus Staff Services are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver specialising in flatbed operations to join our team. Candidates must hold a valid HGV Class 1 licence and have prior experience with flatbed lorries.
This will be for holiday & sickness cover and to cover peak busy periods. Ongoing work given wherever possible but we also supply other companies in this area to fill in full weeks.
Rate is £16.00p/hr PAYE or £18.05 PAYE inc Holiday
Responsibilities
- Operate flatbed lorries in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Safely load, secure, and unload cargo using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel efficiency
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status and any unforeseen delays
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards at all times during operations
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries
- Delivery driver experience preferred, with a strong understanding of logistics operations
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for securing loads on flatbeds
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Good communication skills and professional attitude towards clients and colleagues
