Smith’s Dairies is a successful, and established, family-run milk delivery business, based in Macclesfield. We are currently looking to recruit a Milk Delivery Operative. This exciting opportunity has arisen as a result of our continued growth and offers the successful candidate a unique role that can be both challenging and rewarding.

- Competitive salary of £33,800 per annum (£650 p/week and 5 weeks holiday)
- Approximately 32 hours per week (Night work - midnight to 7am - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday)

Key Duties Of The Role
- Delivering milk, and other items – identifying customer locations, utilising the most efficient delivery route and staying on schedule.
- Management of customer debt on your round – following company debt management procedures.
- Maintaining positive customer relations whilst carrying out weekly collection – obtaining payment by accepting cash & cheques.
- Managing your round efficiently and effectively by liaising with the office staff.
- Inputting data and order amendments into your Round Handheld Computer.
- Loading the vehicle in accordance with ordering and load list data.
- Maintaining safe operation and clean appearance by complying with legislation, company policy, procedures and working standards.
- Update job knowledge by participating in training opportunities and completing Health and Safety training tasks.
- Developing sales by delivering leaflets, reviewing standing orders, recommending new products, adjusting and placing orders and calling on potential customers.
- Checking your vehicle for safe operation by inspecting general condition & validating adherence to DVLA standards.
- Conducting your job role with pride and professionalism.
Essential Criteria
- Experience in demonstrating excellent customer service skills and working with utmost professionalism.
- Must be extremely trustworthy, punctual & reliable.
- Must be organised and have good communication skills.
- Must possess a minimum C grade in both GCSE Mathematics & English, or alternative equivalent.
- Must be able to work as part of our team whilst also being able to work independently and unsupervised.
- Must have the ability to work under pressure, using your own initiative and a "common sense approach".
- Must be prepared to work unsociable hours and in all weather conditions.
- Must have a flexible approach.
Please note that applicants must possess a FULL UK Driving License with no more than 3 penalty points and be able to satisfactorily pass a Criminal Record Check (CRB). Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience working within a similar role is desirable, however full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
