Looking for a volunteer role where you can make a real difference?
Every day, unpaid carers provide vital support to family members and friends who could not manage without them. While caring can be rewarding, it can also be physically and emotionally demanding, leaving little time for carers to focus on their own wellbeing.
That's where our volunteers come in.
The Association of Carers is seeking compassionate and reliable volunteers across East Sussex who can spare up to three hours a week to support local carers. By spending time with the person they care for in their home, you'll give carers the opportunity to take a much-needed break, whether that's attending an appointment, catching up with friends, or simply enjoying some time to themselves.
You don't need any previous experience, just a friendly approach, good listening skills, and a willingness to help others. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and provide all the support you need to feel confident in your role.
What we offer: ✅ Full induction and ongoing training
✅ Regular volunteer support sessions
✅ Reimbursement of agreed expenses
✅ Opportunities to develop new skills and make new connections
✅ A rewarding role that has a genuine impact on local families
Please note that volunteers do not provide personal care.
By giving just a few hours of your time each week, you can help reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, and provide invaluable support to an unpaid carer in your community.
