Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter and Decorator to join our team. This role involves transforming interior and exterior spaces through expert painting and decorating techniques, ensuring high standards of quality and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craftsmanship, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites with a company van provided. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within the construction and refurbishment sectors.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with precision.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to meet project requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members regarding project progress and any issues encountered.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, including safe disposal of waste materials.
- Assist in selecting appropriate colours and finishes based on client preferences or project briefs.
- Complete projects within designated timeframes while maintaining high-quality standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is highly desirable.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to painting works.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between different sites.
- CSCS Blue card (skilled Worker minimum)
- Fluency in English is essential for effective communication on-site.
- Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with clients and team members.
