We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Musical Theatre Club Instructor / Supervisor to lead a weekly after-school Musical Theatre Club at a primary school in the Swadlincote area (Leicestershire). This role gives children the opportunity to explore singing, acting, and movement while building confidence, creativity, teamwork, and performance skills in a fun and supportive environment.
The club will run once a week after school for 1 hour on either Tuesday or Wednesday (day to be confirmed), commencing the week beginning 31st August 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise small groups of primary-aged children in engaging musical theatre sessions.
- Plan and deliver fun, age-appropriate activities that combine singing, acting, movement, and simple choreography.
- Encourage creativity, confidence, teamwork, and self-expression through performance-based activities.
- Support children in developing communication skills, stage presence, and performance confidence in an inclusive environment.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and, where appropriate, parents regarding children's participation and progress.
- Ensure the activity space, props, and any equipment are safe, organised, and prepared for each session.
Experience & Skills
- Experience teaching musical theatre, drama, singing, dance, or performing arts to children in schools, clubs, or similar settings.
- Ability to inspire and engage young learners in a structured yet enjoyable environment.
- Strong English communication skills for working effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- A background in performing arts, theatre, music, education, or children's coaching is desirable.
