Netley Hall is an exclusive wedding and events venue located outside of Shrewsbury in Shropshire. We host between 80 and 100 weddings and events per year.
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Self-Employed Hospitality Duty Manager to oversee and manage the Front of House team on Wedding and Event days.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for experienced independent professionals to lead guest services, supervise staff, and ensure exceptional hospitality standards. As a self-employed duty manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high-quality service delivery, managing team performance, and creating memorable experiences for all guests. Your leadership will help foster a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
As the role suggests we are looking for someone who will work on a self employed basis, assisting the company as and when required and invoicing accordingly.
Hours:
These will vary depending on each wedding/events run time though the typical required cover would be between 12:00 and 23:00.
The venue is available for weddings and events 7 days a week - therefore weekend availability is a must.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all Front of House staff, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery
- Lead, motivate, and support staff to uphold high standards of guest services and hospitality excellence
- Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Oversee human resources functions including staff scheduling, training, and performance management
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to maintain quality supplies and equipment necessary for operations
- Monitor health and safety compliance, ensuring all protocols are followed diligently
- Conduct regular inspections of the premises to uphold cleanliness, safety standards, and overall presentation
- Implement operational procedures to enhance guest experience and streamline service processes
Skills
- Extensive bar and general front of house service skills are required.
- Proven supervising experience within the hospitality or hotel industry
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team in a fast-paced environment
- Extensive hotel experience with a solid understanding of guest services standards
- Knowledge of human resources practices including recruitment, training, and staff development
- Excellent communication skills to handle guest inquiries and resolve conflicts diplomatically
- Passion for delivering outstanding hospitality experiences with a proactive approach to problem-solving
