Care Ashore is looking for a friendly, reliable and flexible Bar Assistant to join the team at our Social Club on the beautiful 250-acre Springbok Estate.
Our Social Club is used by residents of the charity, as well as visitors, campers and local groups. We are looking for someone who can help provide a warm welcome, excellent customer service and responsible bar service in keeping with Care Ashore's values of being trusted, compassionate, respectful and dependable.
Hours
The role will usually involve 2 shifts per week of around 4-6 hours each, one at the weekend and one during the week, although hours may vary slightly depending on events, visitor numbers and holiday cover. The successful candidate will also provide agreed holiday cover for the Bar Manager.
What you will do
· Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks responsibly and professionally.
· Operate the till and handle cash/card payments accurately.
· Keep the bar clean, tidy, safe and well-stocked.
· Welcome residents, visitors, campers and other groups using the Social Club.
· Follow licensing requirements, including checking proof of age where needed.
· Help maintain a safe, friendly and respectful environment for everyone.
About you
Applicants must be aged 18 or over as the role involves the unsupervised sale of alcohol and responsible licensing duties.
Previous bar, hospitality or customer service experience would be helpful, but the right attitude is just as important. We are looking for someone who is positive, patient, dependable and comfortable working with residents, visitors and colleagues in a small charity setting.
