On behalf of the Department for Education, we are looking for an Assistant Finance Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 month hybrid contract based in Darlington, Manchester, Sheffield or Coventry.
The successful candidate will have an expectation of x2 office working days per week and the remainder will be working from home.
As a Assistant Finance Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Support FE financial reporting, estimates and forecasting.
- Collect, validate and analyse financial data from FE colleges.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support audits, data assurance and reporting compliance.
- Help develop and improve data collection processes and templates.
- Conduct research and identify gaps, risks and reporting requirements
Essential:
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with auditors and assurance teams.
- Strong analytical skills with financial data and reporting.
- Ability to validate, interpret and present complex data.
- Qualified accountant (or working towards qualification).
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
Desirable:
- Previous auditing or financial assurance experience is desirable.
