HMP Exeter has an exciting opportunity for a Functional Skills English Lecturer to join the prison-based Education Team.
We are seeking a creative and inspiring English Lecturer who can support a range of learning needs from Entry level to Level 2 in English. The ideal candidate will be extremely well organised with the ability to deal with a wide range of learning profiles and specific educational needs. Many of these learners find a classroom environment very challenging so, you will need to be able to engage learners and support them in small groups or on a one-to-one basis. This role is highly rewarding as you will be influential in helping learners towards further education and employment opportunities within prison as well as on release. Success through gaining qualifications builds confidence and esteem which is something many prisoners have not experienced in the past. Functional Skills is a fundamental element to the curriculum and underpins all other courses offered at this training and resettlement prison for the Southwest of England.
MK College Group works to reduce re-offending by providing learners with opportunities to learn and develop skills. We would like you to be part of the learner’s journey, providing them with a positive learning experience.
If you are as passionate as we are about reducing re-offending and ensuring learners have a positive learning experience, this is a fantastic opportunity for you!
