At Campden BRI, our Facilities & Engineering team plays a vital role in ensuring our laboratories, offices and specialist facilities operate safely, efficiently and effectively. Supporting a wide range of scientific, technical and business functions, the team delivers maintenance, infrastructure improvements and engineering solutions that enable our organisation to thrive.
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse range of electrical and mechanical systems, contributing to maintenance activities, infrastructure projects and business-critical engineering improvements in a unique scientific environment.
What you'll be doing
- Maintaining, servicing, commissioning and modifying electrical and mechanical systems across the site through our CAFM/CMMS system
- Supporting business operations by ensuring building services and infrastructure remain compliant, safe and fully operational
- Delivering bespoke engineering modifications and solutions to support research projects and laboratory activities
- Assisting with infrastructure improvement projects that support the ongoing development of the business
- Monitoring and responding to Building Management Systems (BMS), security systems and CCTV alerts
- Working with specialist contractors, suppliers and consultants to resolve technical issues and deliver engineering projects
- Diagnosing and resolving faults across building services, facilities infrastructure and specialist equipment
- Managing assigned tasks independently and seeing projects through to completion with minimal supervision
- Supporting the management of contractors and external service providers where required
- Participating in the out-of-hours call-out rota, including occasional weekend working
What we're looking for
- A recognised qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline
- Previous experience working within an engineering, facilities or trade environment
- Experience using Building Management Systems or similar facilities management software
- Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and safe working practices
- Understanding of systems such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, working at height procedures, confined spaces and PUWER requirements
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, contractors and suppliers
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to continuous professional development
- Experience in welding, fabrication, pipe fitting or plumbing would be advantageous but is not essential

Pay: £38,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
