Magic Life is looking for a part-time Maintenance Operative to join our team at one of our supported living services in Peterborough.
At Magic Life, we provide safe, high-quality supported living accommodation and take pride in keeping our properties well maintained for our residents. We're looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and happy to get stuck into all aspects of property maintenance.
Ideally, we're looking for someone who lives in or around the Yaxley area, as the role is based locally and may occasionally require a prompt response to maintenance issues.
Role & Responsibilities
- Painting and decorating.
- Basic plumbing.
- Basic electrics.
- Kitchen maintenance and repairs.
- General property maintenance.
- Light carpentry and installation works.
- Furniture assembly.
- Gardening and maintaining the outdoor areas to a good standard.
- Carrying out general repairs and reporting any larger maintenance issues.
- Making sure the property is kept safe and well maintained.
- Working closely with the management team and external contractors where required.
Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and carpentry work.
- A good understanding of health and safety.
- Good communication skills.
- A can-do attitude and willingness to help.
- The ability to work on their own as well as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Lives in or around the Yaxley/Peterborough area.
- Flexibility to assist with out-of-hours emergency call-outs if required.
- DBS required
