Nursery Room Leader — Godalming | Up to £34,500 + 95% childcare discount
Salary: Up to £34,500 per year, depending on experience
Job type: Full-time, permanent
About the role
A well-established nursery group is looking for a warm and capable Room Leader for one of its Surrey settings.
The nursery has recently been refurbished throughout - bright, modern, purpose-built rooms across the age ranges, with children from three months to five years. Outdoors is the real draw: an allotment where the children grow fruit and vegetables for the on-site cook to use, age-zoned play areas, story nooks, and plenty of space to run, cycle and explore. Good transport links and parking on site.
You'd be joining early, with a real chance to shape a room and a team from the ground up.
What you'll be doing
- Leading and supporting your room team to deliver warm, high-quality care and education
- Running the room day to day - routines, ratios and deployment
- Delivering the EYFS to a high standard for every child in your room
- Acting as a key person and overseeing the key person approach across the room
- Planning, leading and evaluating activities that spark children's curiosity
- Observing, tracking and supporting each child's learning and development
- Supporting safeguarding as a senior member of the team
- Building warm, trusting relationships with parents and carers
What we're looking for
- A full and relevant Level 3 early years qualification as a minimum
- Solid early years experience, ideally including room leader, senior or supervisory responsibility
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding
- A confident, warm leader who can motivate a team and set the standard
- A genuine passion for early years and outdoor, nature-based learning
What you'll get
- Up to £34,500 depending on experience
- 95% childcare discount for your own children
- Real investment in training, qualifications and career progression
- The chance to establish a room and a team from the outset
- A beautiful, modern setting with a superb garden and allotment
