We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant for a period of 8 weeks with immediate start. The successful candidate will be responsible for menu development, kitchen management, food quality control, and staff leadership. This role requires a hands-on approach, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and quality.
- Develop and maintain an innovative, seasonal menu that aligns with the restaurant’s concept.
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene.
- Monitor food costs, portion control, and waste management to maintain profitability.
- Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
- Implement and maintain food safety and sanitation regulations in line with local health guidelines.
- Manage kitchen schedules and staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage.
- Work closely with suppliers to source the best ingredients while maintaining budget control.
- Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends and introduce new techniques to enhance the menu.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse kitchen team.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Financial acumen with experience in cost control and budgeting.
- Passion for food innovation and a commitment to high-quality standards.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
