Maintenance / Handyperson
Reports to: Home Managers
Location: Larne, Carnlough, Belfast
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Pay: £14.00 per hour
Job Overview
Under the direction of the Home Manager, the Maintenance/Handyperson is responsible for providing a high standard of maintenance services in line with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This includes both planned and reactive maintenance to ensure the home remains safe, well-presented, and fully operational.
You will be responsible for prioritising and managing maintenance tasks effectively, supporting the overall running of the home, and contributing to a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Compliance
- Carry out routine statutory checks at required intervals and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure all maintenance documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Report maintenance issues promptly to the Home Manager.
- Undertake painting, decorating, and minor repairs as needed to maintain high standards across the home.
- Liaise with external contractors to ensure mandatory service checks are completed as scheduled.
- Work closely with the Home Manager and Group Estates Manager on maintenance projects and larger works.
- Maintain clear records of all identified faults, defects, and subsequent repairs.
- Proactively ensure all maintenance standards are met and maintained.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a maintenance or handyperson role preferred.
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence (required).
- Authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
