Join our team at The Cider Barn!
We're looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated Front of House Supervisor to join our close-knit team, with the opportunity to progress into an Assistant Manager role as our business continues to grow.
At The Cider Barn, we're much more than just a restaurant. We operate our restaurant from Thursday to Sunday, host weddings and private events at our venue, and provide outside catering for dinner parties, corporate events and weddings at a variety of locations. You'll enjoy a varied role, working across our restaurant, weddings, private events and outside catering throughout the year.
As a small team, we work closely together to deliver exceptional food, service and events. We pride ourselves on creating a positive, supportive workplace where everyone pitches in, works hard and enjoys what they do. Everyone plays an important role, and we're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is happy to get stuck in and is ready to take on responsibility while supporting the day-to-day running of the business.
The Role
This is a hands-on role with responsibility from day one. You'll work closely with the management team to help ensure smooth service, maintain high standards and create a welcoming experience for every guest.
Initially, you'll be trusted to run some of our quieter services independently while supporting the management team during busy restaurant shifts, weddings and events. As your confidence grows, you'll take on more responsibility and play an increasingly important role in the day-to-day running of the business.
Your role will include:
- Working 18–24 hours per week across a mixture of daytime, evening and weekend shifts.
- Helping oversee the smooth running of restaurant service.
- Running quieter shifts independently.
- Supporting the management team during busy weekend services, weddings and outside catering events.
- Leading by example on the floor and supporting other team members throughout service.
- Opening and closing the restaurant when required.
- Assisting with cash handling and end-of-day procedures.
- Supporting the setup and delivery of weddings, private events and outside catering.
- Helping maintain high standards of customer service, cleanliness and organisation.
- Assisting with stock management and the training of new team members as you develop within the role.
What We're Looking For
We're much more interested in attitude than experience.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a positive, can-do attitude.
- Be friendly, approachable and confident with customers.
- Have excellent communication and people skills.
- Enjoy leading by example and supporting a team.
- Be organised, reliable and proactive.
- Be willing to get stuck in wherever needed.
- Be flexible and able to adapt to the changing demands of the business.
Previous hospitality experience isn't essential. Full training will be provided for the right person. If you have the right attitude, enjoy working with people and are keen to develop into a leadership role, we'd love to hear from you.
What We Offer
- A supportive, welcoming and friendly working environment.
- A varied role across restaurant service, weddings, private events and outside catering.
- Full training and ongoing support.
- The opportunity to take responsibility and make the role your own.
- Genuine opportunities for progression into an Assistant Manager position as the business continues to grow.
Due to the nature of our business, flexibility is important, particularly during our busy wedding and event season.
If you're looking for a varied role where you can develop your skills, take on responsibility and become an important part of a growing independent business, we'd love to hear from you. We're looking for someone who wants to grow with us, and in return we'll invest in your development and give you every opportunity to progress within the business.
