Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join our Audits and Performance Team.
The Audits and Performance Team plays a critical role in providing assurance that operational activities are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with contractual, regulatory, and organisational requirements. Through auditing, monitoring, and performance analysis, the team helps identify risks, drive improvements, and maintain high standards across the establishment.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and an interest in understanding how operational performance contributes to the safe and effective running of the prison.
About the Role
As an Analyst, you will support the delivery of the establishment's audit and assurance programme, helping to monitor compliance against contractual, statutory, and local standards.
The Audits and Performance Team are an integral part of the running of the Establishment working closely with operational teams, you will conduct audits, gather and analyse information, identify trends and areas of risk, and contribute to the production of performance reports. You will play an important role in supporting continuous improvement by providing objective scrutiny and insight into operational performance.
This role requires an individual who can work independently, exercise sound judgement, and communicate findings clearly and professionally.
Main Duties

Conduct audits and compliance checks across the establishment in accordance with audit schedules and business requirements.

Carry out audit walkarounds and inspections within operational areas.

Assist in the completion of audits including, but not limited to:

Control of Internal Movements

Mandatory Drug Testing

Vehicle Security
-
Night Management
-
External Escorts
-
Collect, verify, and analyse audit and performance data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.

Produce accurate audit records, reports, and supporting documentation.

Monitor compliance against contractual and operational standards.

Support preparations for internal and external inspections, including those conducted by the Ministry of Justice and Controllers.

Contribute to the development of audit processes, performance reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Build effective working relationships with operational teams to support a culture of accountability and compliance.

There are no specific skills we are looking for - whether you come from a prison background or are new to prisons. We simply want a person who is interested and keen to learn!
Experience
Previous experience within auditing, compliance, performance, assurance, administration, operational support, security, or a custodial environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
We are looking for individuals who are inquisitive, analytical, and eager to learn. Full training and support will be provided to help you develop within the role.
