SLS Solicitors are looking to recruit an experienced Housing Disrepair Litigation Fee Earner / HDR Litigator to join our small but growing firm.
We are seeking a confident and capable candidate with at least 12 months’ experience handling Housing Disrepair litigation matters. The successful candidate must be familiar and comfortable with all aspects of the HDR litigation process and able to manage cases efficiently from issue through to conclusion.
Key Responsibilities
The role will include:
- Managing a caseload of Housing Disrepair litigation files
- Complying with court directions and litigation deadlines
- Drafting witness statements and other litigation documents
- Preparing instructions to counsel for allocation hearings, applications, and trials
- Handling applications throughout the life of a Housing Disrepair claim
- Reviewing evidence, expert reports, pleadings, and disclosure
- Negotiating settlements and progressing matters commercially
- Achieving strong billing and settlement outcomes
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 12 months’ Housing Disrepair litigation experience
- A good working knowledge of the HDR litigation process
- Experience complying with directions and preparing cases for hearings and trial
- Confidence drafting witness statements and briefing counsel
- A proven track record of settling cases and billing
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines
- A proactive, professional, and commercially minded approach
