Overview
We are seeking energetic and reliable Private Hire Drivers based in Coventry to join our team, specializing in school transport services. Candidates must hold a valid Coventry Private Hire Licence and have a strong commitment to providing safe, punctual, and friendly transportation for students. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a private hire vehicle to transport students to and from school locations in Coventry.
- Ensure timely pickups and drop-offs, maintaining punctuality throughout the school day.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to verify mechanical safety and cleanliness before each shift.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students to coordinate schedules and address any concerns.
- Maintain professional conduct at all times, demonstrating excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, licensing requirements, and health & safety regulations related to school transport.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks or report issues promptly to ensure continuous safe operation.
Experience
- Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably with delivery or passenger transport background.
- Valid Coventry Private Hire Driver Licence or equivalent local private hire licensing.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to identify common vehicle issues and assist with basic maintenance when needed.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in English with diverse passengers and team members.
- Familiarity with Coventry roads, routes, and local traffic regulations is advantageous.
- Prior experience working as a driver or in similar roles involving transporting children or vulnerable passengers is desirable.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety, reliability, and professionalism.
