Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive HR Advisor to join our team based in our Ipswich offices. Working closely with the Head of HR, you will undertake HR administration and the implementation of HR process across the Firm whilst also providing expert guidance on HR policies and wellbeing, helping to foster a positive and supportive workplace culture.
Duties
- Lead on the design and delivery of the Firm’s induction, ensuring the process is regularly reviewed and updated in line with business and legal requirements
- Working with the Head of HR, take responsibility for the design and implementation of the firm’s annual calendar of wellbeing events, ensuring all events are appropriately communicated to all employees and implemented professionally
- Ensure all mandatory training is completed during probationary periods and that probation assessments are properly recorded within the HR system
- Ensure that performance concerns highlighted during probationary periods are promptly brought to the attention of the Head of HR
- Lead on the implementation of all mandatory training courses to ensure they are current, effective and made accessible to remote workers wherever possible
- Provide regular reporting to demonstrate the Firm’s compliance with training
- Support the Head of HR with the Personal Development Plan process across the Firm, attending and supporting at meetings as required.
- Support managers and highlighted high performers to develop their own personal development/career plans
- Support the Head of HR by identifying learning actions highlighted during the annual PDR process and make recommendation for budgetary spend to address these actions
- Support the Head of HR with administration associated with recruitment processes, liaising with recruitment agencies as required
- Undertake initial screening of applicants for recruitment processes
- Contribute to specified recruitment, through attendance and contribution in the interview process and through the provision of advice and guidance to managers
- Take responsibility for the co-ordination of work experience placements ensuring opportunities are offered in line with agreed strategy and placements are spread across the business.
- Working with the Health & Safety Advisor ensure that all appropriate risk assessments are completed for work experience students and relevant H&S training is provided during their stay.
- Ensure all work experience students complete feedback forms at the end of their placement allowing for ongoing improvements to be made to the experience
- Ensure that all training and development is recorded on the SageHR system and is easily reported upon
- Take responsibility for providing the required reporting for to the External Compliance Manager for the annual audit process
- Contribute to the annual audit process as required
- Attend and support at agreed external careers and training events on behalf of the Firm
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times, understanding that the role sits within the HR department and will have access to confidential information
- Ensure that all Learning and Development information is held in accordance with GDPR requirements and is destroyed in accordance with the agreed retention schedule.
Experience
- Experience of working within a busy HR team
- Sound knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
- CIPD qualified or working towards
- Strong IT skills to include MS Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook
- The ability to work with LMS and HR systems
- The ability to collate, run reports and provide data insights
- Strong communication and presentation skills (both oral and written)
- The ability to effectively prioritise and organise own workload on a day-to-day basis
- Ability and willingness to work to deadlines
- Good attention to detail and work presentation taking into account the audience
- Willingness to work evenings/weekends on an ad hoc basis to attend career fairs/external events
- Ability to travel to external locations as required
Pay: £35,000.00 per year
