Housekeeping Assistant
Job Summary
Dalston Hall is a beautiful Grade II listed country house hotel and wedding venue located on the outskirts of Carlisle. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant to join our team and help maintain the exceptional standards our guests expect.
In this important role, you will be responsible for ensuring our guest bedrooms, public areas, event spaces, and facilities are presented to the highest standard of cleanliness and comfort. Your attention to detail, reliability, and pride in your work will help create memorable experiences for wedding guests, hotel residents, and visitors to Dalston Hall.
Duties
- Clean and prepare guest bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas to the high standards expected at Dalston Hall.
- Ensure all surfaces, furnishings, fixtures, and floors are cleaned, polished, and sanitised.
- Make beds, change linens, and replenish guest amenities and toiletries.
- Assist with the presentation of wedding and event spaces, ensuring they are clean, tidy, and guest-ready.
- Restock housekeeping supplies and linen stores as required.
- Report maintenance issues, damage, or health and safety concerns promptly to management.
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene procedures while using cleaning equipment and products.
- Support deep-cleaning schedules and special cleaning projects throughout the property.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Maintain the highest levels of professionalism, discretion, and customer service.
Requirements
- Previous housekeeping, hotel, or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining exceptional standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy hospitality environment.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- A positive, friendly, and reliable attitude.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays as required by the needs of the business.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating welcoming environments for guests.
