Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mobile Technician specialising in Trailer and Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) maintenance and repair. This role involves working on-site and travelling to various locations to ensure the optimal compliance of trailers and HGVs. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and fabrication work, with the ability to utilise a range of tools and equipment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for those with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance, repair, and assembly to contribute to a dynamic team dedicated to high standards of service and safety.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on trailers and HGVs at various locations.
- Attend morning on-site defect clinics as a mobile technician.
- Support workshop operations when required
- Perform fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly tasks as required for repairs or modifications.
- Interpret brake circuit and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and trailer test equipment safely and effectively.
- Repair or replace electrical components, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of work carried out, parts used, and repairs completed.
- Liaise with the parts department to obtain correct parts efficiently
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and recommendations.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.Qualifications
- Proven experience in vehicle or trailer repair, with strong mechanical knowledge.
- Skills in fabrication, welding, soldering, electrical work, and diagnostic.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly processes.
- Ability to perform DVSA standard inspections to the highest standad.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in fleet, HGV or trailer repairs.
