Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food, and extensive kitchen experience. As a vital part of our restaurant operation, the Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen activities, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and supervising kitchen staff. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality food production.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and other team members, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure all food safety regulations are strictly adhered to, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across the kitchen.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and manage storage to minimise waste.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
- Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and restaurant policies.
- Maintain organisation within the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and operational.
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or hospitality setting.
- Strong background in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively.
- Extensive kitchen experience with a thorough understanding of food safety standards.
- Knowledge of culinary practices across diverse cuisines is desirable.
- Experience working in restaurants or hospitality environments with a focus on serving guests efficiently.
