We are currently seeking experienced Groundworkers , Supervisors and Foremen to work on residential sites ranging from 30–50 units.
Foreman Role
Role Overview:
You will be responsible for running the groundworks package on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organisation and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all groundworks operations on site
- Supervise gangs and subcontractors, coordinating daily site activities, labour, plant and materials.
- Coordinate and deliver 278 works (S278) and associated infrastructure
- Overseeing a range of groundworks tasks including drainage, foundation and external works
- Maintain high standard of quality control and health & safety compliance.
- Liaise with site management, engineers, and suppliers
- Maintain productivity and quality across all phases of work
- Completion of onsite paperwork, reports and documentation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Groundworks Foreman
- Strong knowledge of S278 works and site infrastructure
- Ability to run a site independently
- SSSTS/SMSTS preferred
- Valid CSCS Card
- First Aid (desirable)
- Streetworks supervisor (desirable)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Own Transport preferred.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead a team while remaining hands-on when required.
Groundworker Role
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all aspects of groundwork including drainage, foundations, kerbing, paving, concreting and finishing works.
- Install ducting, utilities and underground services.
- Prepare sites for construction and ensure work is completed to a high standard.
- Operate small plant and hand tools where qualified.
- Work safely and efficiently while following site health and safety procedures.
- Work as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
Requirements
- Previous experience in groundwork and civil engineering.
- Valid CSCS Card (essential).
- CPCS/NPORS plant tickets are an advantage.
- Ability to read drawings is beneficial.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
- Strong work ethic, reliability and good communication skills.
Supervisor Job Role
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily groundwork activities on site.
- Lead groundworkers, plant operators and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Plan daily tasks and allocate labour, plant and materials effectively.
- Monitor progress and ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks and maintain high safety standards.
- Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers, Clients and other trades.
- Carry out quality inspections and resolve any issues on site.
- Keep accurate site records, including labour, plant and progress reports.
Requirements
- Proven experience supervising groundwork or civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of drainage, foundations, roads, kerbing, ducting and finishing works.
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification (essential).
- Valid CSCS Supervisor Card.
- CPCS/NPORS plant tickets are advantageous.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to read construction drawings and work to programme.
