Operations Coordinator
AL Performance | Hull (hybrid) | Full time | £30,000 to £35,000 plus quarterly bonus (OTE £40,000)
We are looking for a highly organised, proactive person to run recruitment, onboarding and day to day coordination for a fast growing contact centre technology business, working side by side with the two co-founders.
This is not a PA role and it is not an admin role. It is a core operational role. We want someone who can take ownership, build systems, and keep the business running smoothly behind the scenes while learning how a company at this stage actually works.
About AL Performance
AL Performance (ALP) is a Five9 Certified Implementation Partner and managed services provider headquartered in Hull. We design, build and run contact centre technology for more than 30 retained clients across the UK, Europe and the US, in sectors including home improvement, financial services, debt management, legal and BPO.
Our team of 20 works fully remotely across the UK and the Philippines, has delivered over 100 Five9 implementations, and includes former Five9 employees, former Five9 customers and Five9 partner implementation engineers.
The role
You will own three things.
1. Recruitment
You will run hiring for the business end to end: writing adverts, managing applications, screening, scheduling interviews and practical assessments, coordinating offers and keeping candidates warm through to their start date. That covers technical roles in the Philippines and senior consultant roles in the UK, so you will be working across time zones and two very different talent markets.
2. Onboarding, training and welcome
Every new starter's first weeks will be yours to shape: contracts and paperwork, kit and system access, initial training schedules, introductions to the team and the clients they will work with. You will be the first face people see and the person who makes sure nobody falls through the cracks.
3. Business coordination
All the day to day coordination that keeps the founders and the business moving: managing the co-founders' diaries, meeting bookings and inboxes, chasing actions to closure, creating and improving simple systems and SOPs, and spotting what needs doing before anyone asks.
Working pattern
- Full time, Monday to Friday
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in our co-working office at C4DI, 31-38 Queen Street, Hull HU1 1UU
- Monday and Friday working from home
Why this role is different
You will sit next to the co-founders every day and see how a business at this stage really runs: hiring decisions, client conversations, commercial calls, the lot. It is a mentored development role, not a back office one. We want someone who will grow with the business, and as ALP scales there is room for this role to scale with it.
About you
- Highly organised and naturally proactive
- Comfortable taking ownership and working without a script
- Confident on the phone, on video and in writing, whether that is with candidates, new starters, the team or clients
- Strong attention to detail, particularly with paperwork, diaries and follow ups
- Able to bring structure to a busy, fast moving environment
- Experience in recruitment, onboarding, operations or coordination is helpful, but attitude and initiative matter more
Our values
Four values are on the wall in our office. They are not decoration. They are how we hire, how we run the business and how we will judge whether this role is going well.
1. Get Sh*t Done
We are a small team serving 30+ clients across three time zones, and nobody is waiting around for permission. In this role that means the interview gets booked today, the new starter's laptop is on their desk before day one, the founder's diary is sorted before they ask, and the loose ends get chased until they are closed. We value people who finish things over people who start them.
2. Your Business Is Our Business
Our clients treat us as part of their team, and we treat their contact centre like it is our own. Internally it works the same way. The people you hire, the way you onboard them and the systems you build will directly shape how well we look after our clients. We want someone who sees the whole business as theirs to improve, not just the bit in their job description.
3. Be Better Than Everyone Else
We are ambitious and we do not apologise for it. We want the best Five9 consultants in the market, the sharpest recruitment process our candidates have ever been through, and an onboarding experience that makes new starters tell their mates. Good enough is not the bar. If you are competitive about doing things properly, you will fit in here.
4. Radical Candor
We say the hard thing, kindly and directly, to each other and to our clients. You will get honest feedback from the co-founders from week one, and we expect the same back. If something is not working, say so. If one of us is making a bad call, tell us. The wrong answer is silence.
Important
We are not looking for someone to wait for instructions. We want someone who can spot what needs doing, take ownership, and help improve how things run. If you read this advert and thought "I would sort that", you are probably who we are looking for.
Pay and benefits
- £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience
- Quarterly performance and results bonus, OTE £40,000
- Gym membership allowance
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Workplace pension
- Hybrid working, three days in Hull city centre and two from home
How to apply
We are not asking for a CV on its own. Apply through the form below. It takes around 20 to 30 minutes and includes a short video and a small task. If that puts you off, this is probably not the role for you.
Apply here: https://forms.gle/MSRRugtaPeGgcQ6v8
Please read this before you apply
We review every application personally, and we will ONLY reply to candidates who complete the form in full.
If you have not read the criteria and do not meet them, you have not passed the initial stage and you will not hear from us. That includes applications sent without the video or the task, and it includes anyone who cannot do three office days a week in Hull. If you live in Spain and are not moving to the Hull area imminently, please do not apply, and please do not expect a response if you do.
The other side of that deal: 100% of candidates who meet the criteria and follow the application instructions will get a reply from us with feedback, whether they were successful or not.
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Company pension
- Employee mentoring programme
- Flexitime
- Gym membership
- Sick pay
